We are Owl Class 2017-18

Sports day went with a swing for Owl class. Thanks to the Y6 for organising many fun races!

In art we have been studying camouflage. Can you spot our hidden animals?

Owls class for our recent school trip on 16th April to Slimbridge wildfowl and wetlands

To start our project on bridges Owl class have been building with a range of materials. Next week we will start learning about the creative genius, Brunel.

Owls Agility Winners

Owls Agility

Y1’s were helped by Y6 to get terrific scores in Infant Agility in November. What super stars!

Owls are budding artists!

We have been painting portraits, mixing colours for autumn leaves, decorating rocks with patterns and painting volcanoes for a display.

Using IT

We have been making clocks and playing time games in IT.

Thank you to the parents who helped us log in!!

Vicar of St Stephens Visit

Y1 had Lisa Wigmore, the vicar of St Stephens, to visit them to discuss ‘what it means to be a Christian’, part of their unit on Christianity. Next term we are studying Judaism and acting out Hannakah.

The Stay Safe team did an assembly about being safe when the clock go back after half term.

Minibeast Hunt

We found 21 worms, 14 snails, 17 slugs, 5 spiders, 1 beetle and 8 woodlice this afternoon in the school grounds.

We are now snail experts and have been writing reports about them. Did you know they have 27,000 teeth!!

Photos with Pets

The children enjoyed asking several questions about pets and were able to handle the puppy, guinea pigs and bearded dragons.  Thank you to the parents who brought them in – we had a great session!

Our first week in Year one.

Lots of maths and a visit to the sensory garden before making clay snails!!

Take a look at some of our work and sometimes us in the classroom. You are always welcome to come into school and take a closer look. You can see from the displays in our classrooms the variety of topics we cover. As the year progresses, the displays change. By July, you will be able to see the whole range of subjects we have covered. Our Working walls help us learn – the content builds as the term progresses.
