Shadow puppet play

Amy came to join us to show us an excellent shadow puppet play the genie and the fisherman. Every Y1 child then created a puppet from card cellophane and a stick and made a play to act out in front of a projector. It was fabulous fun!!

SS Great Britain

Y1’s  had a wonderful experience at the S.S Gt Britain this week. We explored the ship and the cabins, the banqueting hall and the engines. We dressed up as Victorians for the launch of the ship across the Atlantic in 1843 and learnt how to join the iron hull with rivets. A brilliant day was had by all!

We had great fun for our topic Animal Magic

Year One Chinese New Year Wow Day

We had a Chinese New Year Wow Day, we did a dragon dance, then acted out the story with masks,  then we tasted noodles.

Year 1 Wow Day – Who is behind the mask?? Can you guess?

Y1 have been designing Book covers for One day on our Blue Planet. Aren’t they super!

We have made bread for our harvest assembly and collected coins for Save the children.

Take a look at some of our work and sometimes us in the classroom. You are always welcome to come into school and take a closer look. You can see from the displays in our classrooms the variety of topics we cover. As the year progresses, the displays change. By July, you will be able to see the whole range of subjects we have covered. Our Working walls help us learn – the content builds as the term progresses.
