EYFS Squirrels Trip to Slimbridge
Year 3 and 4 ROMAN BATHS VISIT
Years 3 and 4 visited Bath last Friday. Bella and Alice tell us about their day:
“We looked at lots of objects in the exhibition. We had special guide ‘phones’, where you pressed the number of the object and the ‘phone’ told you about what you were looking at. There were lots of Roman artefacts to see including shoes, a coffin and loads of coins.
The bath was big and full of green water – I wouldn’t like to have a bath there now! Some of the staff working there were dressed as Romans, and we tried on some clothes like the Romans would have worn. We talked about different Roman buildings and made mosaics using small square magnetic tiles. We could copy a design or make up our own.
We saw lots of interesting things and had a really good day.”
Falcons and Otters – Dyrham Park Trip
November 2015 – What a great, if slightly damp, day we had at Dyrham. Not only did we lay our class slate on the roof but we also had a guided walk to meet the park’s fallow deer. We got really close and could spot the summer fawns and several bucks with enormous antlers.
As well as going onto the roof, we were able to visit Mr Blathwayt’s apartments and see the amazing interiors. The highlight was being able to taste old fashioned hot chocolate complete with chilli – a bit of an acquired taste!
Despite the rain, we all had a great time. An enormous thank you to the National Trust volunteers for being so helpful and accommodating.
