British Values

Our values of  KINDNESS, CURIOSITY and RESPECT underpin all that we do, and align with the DfE's definition of 'fundamental British Values.' These are:

  • democracy
  • the rule of law
  • individual liberty
  • mutual respect for and tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs

Our whole school curriculum themes explore fundamental British Values, particularly the themes of 'Acceptance and Kindness', 'Building Relationships,' 'The World Today,' and 'Different Cultures.'

We also use the Jigsaw scheme for PHSE, and this provides explicit teaching of fundamental British Values.

The are additional opportunities such as the pupil leadership team, school council, assemblies, visits and visitors, which provide children with experiences relevant to British Values.
